Positioning and Support Cushions
Our positioning and support aids are developed by healthcare professionals to provide optimum pressure-relieving abilities and easy cleaning for use in hospital- and care environments. The foam filling and multi-stretch cover provide superior pressure relieving properties, making these positioning cushions ideal for relieving pressure points while creating a comfortable and stable support for any patient or client.
LEJRELET Oval
This small positioning cushion is developed particularly developed to be used for micro-positioning purposes but can also be used as a lumbar support cushion, an abduction wedge, and much more.
LEJRELET Oval is one of the smallest positioning pillows on the market, which makes it ideal for providing that small, extra support that you often need when using larger positioning cushions. For instance, this might be as a lumbar support cushion, a knee abduction cushion or to support a paretic hand.
This support pillow is filled with pressure-relieving foam granulate, which makes it possible to mould the cushion, for instance, to create a doughnut shape. This is particularly useful to relieve pressure on the ears, elbows, or hands.
Micro Positioning
The concept of micro-positioning is about creating small positioning changes to prevent pressure ulcers or to relieve existing pressure ulcers. Using this method, a small positioning cushion is in turn placed at different places on the client’s body, e.g. firstly it is tucked under the client’s right shoulder, then under the right hip, then under the left shoulder and lastly under the left hip. This method mimics the small micro positionings we normally make during our sleep, which people with limited mobility are prevented from doing on their own.
These small changes in position is a great alternative to fully turning the client on their side and is less disturbing during the night. The method is particularly useful for patients in intensive care units with a lot of pain and is also a good tool in pressure ulcer prevention efforts.
Use as a lumbar support cushion
This small positioning cushion can also be used as lumbar support. For instance, LEJRELET Oval can be used as a lumbar support cushion for clients who have respiratory difficulties. In this case, the cushion can be placed at the lower back to open the diaphragm and thereby the airways, when the client is sitting in bed with a bend at the knees. Watch how in this video. The lumbar support cushion can also be used to simply relieve strain on the lower back.
Unique benefits
- Small and easy to bring on the go
- Mould and shape to fit individual needs
- Multi-stretch cover that allows the foam to work efficiently at all times
Useable for
- Pressure-relieving positioning using the method of micro-positioning
- As support between the knees, ankles, arms, and torso
- For support of paretic hand
- Preventing/relieving pressure ulcers or other tissue damages on ears, elbows, hand and more
Recommended for
- Intensive care unit patients or other patients that suffer from a lot of pain, and therefore cannot be moved and handled

- Clients with existing pressure ulcers or risk of developing pressure ulcers
This positioning cushion is suitable for use in all assisted living homes, nursing homes, hospitals and more.
LEJRELET Oval can be wiped clean with water and disinfectant liquids or poured over with boiling water. We recommend that the pillow is not machine washed, as water can seep through the seams, after which the foam takes a long time to dry. The cover cannot be removed, and we recommend that no other cover be placed on the outside of the pillow, as this may reduce the effects of the cushion.
The cover of the cushions is made of a material called Polyurethane coated polyester, which is a light polyester material that has a fire-retardant polyurethane coating on both sides. Furthermore, the cover is treated with a water-repellent agent.
The LEJRELET Tube 125, Tube 250, Pad Low and Oval are all made of 100 % viscoelastic foam. The foam is pressure relieving, provides a large support surface and high comfort for the client, as the foam forms in the desired position.
LEJRELET Wedge and Pad High are both made with a core of polyurethane foam covered with visco-elastic foam. This combination makes the cushions firm and supportive as well as provides an effective pressure relieving quality.

LEJRELET Pad High
This square, firm support cushion is ideal for support of legs, knees, and ankles. In the lateral position, place the client’s leg on the cushion to ensure a neutral hip joint while creating optimal conditions for performing intimate hygiene or other care tasks in bed.
This pressure-relieving positioning cushion is 15 cm high ensuring a neutral position of a client’s hip and pelvis when one leg is placed on the pillow in the side-lying position. This eliminates any painful twists in the lower back, which are otherwise common in this position.
The positioning cushion combines two types of foam to create a firm core that ensures stability, with the pressure-relieving surface. A multi-stretch cover allows the foam optimum working conditions and is vapour permeable and water-resistant, which means that the cushion does not absorb liquids.
Ensure Work Health & Safety
Combine this support cushion with our Wedge cushion, to create optimum working conditions when performing care tasks on a client in bed. This might be situations of wound care or when performing intimate hygiene and dressing in bed. Place the client’s one leg on Pad High and a Wedge in front and/or in the back of the client to ensure that the client is stabilised and comfortable during the whole process.
The support cushion’s cover is made of a vapour permeable material, that is also waterproof. This means that the cushion will not absorb liquids.
Supine position
This support cushion can also be used in the supine position to raise the patient’s lower legs and thereby relieve pressure on the sensitive heel area. When relieving the heels it is especially useful to combine the positioning with the LEJRELET Wedge.
This square positioning cushion can also be used to create a 30-degree or 70-degree position where the leg is placed back onto the pillow. In both these cases, this support pillow allows for pressure relief on the coccyx, sacrum, and heels.
Unique benefits
- Square shape based on the human anatomy
- Slip-resistant cover and pressure-relieving foam
- Improved work health & safety during bedside care tasks
Useable for
- Stabile side-lying positioning

This flexible positioning cushion is ideal for supporting knees, heels, feet, and elbows. The design of this flat positioning cushion makes it adaptable to many situations that require pressure relieving.
LEJRELET Pad Low is a lightweight and soft support cushion that can be shaped and moulded to suit many different situations.
The positioning cushion is ideal to combine with larger positioning cushions to give that little bit of extra support. The cushion’s structure makes it possible to roll up or fold the cushion to suit the individual situation. For instance, roll it up and place it under the neck or use it as an abduction wedge. It is also possible to use the cushion as is. For instance, place it under the heels or under the elbow to relieve pressure points.
When Pad Low is used for positioning patients or clients in the side-lying position it is useful to place it between the knees as an abduction cushion, or between the feet to prevent touching of any bone protrusions.

The body pillow can also be used when turning uneasy or externalizing clients. In this case, the body cushion can be placed on top of the client before commencing the turning process. The weight of the cushion has a calming effect as it stimulates the sensory nervous system and hugging the cushion while being turned with a VENDLET system, creates an overall calm experience, and minimizes externalizing behaviours.
Pressure Relieving Abilities
This cylindrical bolstering cushion is filled with high-quality pressure-relieving foam granulate. This makes it ideal for patients or clients in risk of developing pressure ulcers and for relieving existing pressure ulcers.
Placing the client in the side-lying position with the cushion in front of the body can create comfort at relieving pressure on the shoulders, sacrum, and coccyx.
Likewise, the cushion can be placed behind the client for a slightly elevated supine position that relieves pressure on one side of the body.

LEJRELET Tube 250
LEJRELET Tube 250 is a positioning bolster to support and pressure relieve the entire body. It can be used to create comfortable positions, to relieve pressure points and prevent pressure ulcers, as well as provide sensory stimuli for clients with sensory deprivation such as people with Alzheimer’s Disease.
This full-body positioning bolster is ideal for creating comfortable and pressure relieving positions for clients or patients in bed. The cylinder-shaped bolstering cushion is 250 cm long, which means that it can support the body from head to toe all at once.
Unlike similar body pillows, Tube 250 is filled with pressure-relieving foam granulate, which is moldable and provides stability and comfort. This means that the body cushion is suitable for creating comfortable side-lying positions, 30-degree positions and other pressure relieving positions adapted to the client’s needs.
The foam filling and multi-stretch cover provide superior pressure relieving properties, making this positioning aid ideal for preventing and treating pressure ulcers.
Positioning for Tactile Stimulation
This long body pillow has a nice weight to it, that provides tactile stimuli and optimal support of clients with sensory deprivation, such as clients with Alzheimer’s Disease or other cognitive disorders.
Clients in need of extra tactile stimuli can hug the body bolster while lying on the side and being supported alongside the entire body.
Stable position
Unlike rolled up covers and duvets, this full-body positioning bolster creates a comfortable positioning while allowing for heat and moisture to evaporate. This means that the risk of tissue damages caused by maceration is eliminated.
The foam granulate filling also ensures that the cushion moulds according to the position of the client without compromising the stability of the position. Unlike cushions filled with Styrofoam balls, this bolster cushion stays in place, keeping the desired position for as long as needed.

LEJRELET Wedge
LEJRELET Wedge is a wedge cushion suited for creating stability and comfort. This support cushion is designed to provide upright or reclining support. Place the positioning wedge at the client’s back upright to create stability or on the flat side to create a 30-degree supine position. You can also place Wedge at the client’s chest to ensure a comfortable side-lying position.
This wedge cushion is designed based on the anatomy of the human chest. This makes the support cushion particularly suited for placing in front of the client’s chest or at their back.
The wedge cushion combines two types of foam, to provide firmness and stability to, while also being pressure relieving.
Stability in the side-lying position
The wedge shape and the unique slip-resistant cover makes this support cushion ideal for creating comfortable and stable side-lying positions which is useful during intimate hygiene and dressing in bed, wound care on the lumbar or pelvis areas or for relaxation and sleep. In these cases, the wedge cushion can be placed either at the back or at the front of the client depending on their needs.
As a support cushion in the back, Wedge ensures that uneasy clients cannot turn themselves onto the back, while staff are trying to perform their tasks. When the cushion is placed at the chest, it ensures that the client is supported and cannot tip over onto their stomach. For very uneasy clients use two Wedges – one at the front and one at the back, to reduce the risk of externalizing behaviour.
To ensure even better working conditions, combine Wedge with LEJRELET Pad High, which is a support cushion for the client’s legs. This combination is also ideal for working with lower hygiene.
Knee-bend tailored to the individual
When creating a bend at the knee using the profiling functions of care beds, the bend does not always align with the client’s knees. Using the Wedge cushion, it is possible to create a knee-break exactly where the client’s knees are, providing the best possible support for the client. Combine this position with a Pad High support cushion to elevate the client’s lower legs and relieve the legs, heels, and lower back.
Unique benefits
- Designed to fit the anatomy of the chest and back
- Many possible combinations
- Slip-resistant cover and pressure-relieving foam
